June 5, 2009. Dr Tamas Fazekas has sent to World Journal "Psychotherapy" the article named „Therapy of the Other. Philosophical foundation of an intercultural Psychotherapy”.
Dr Fasecas said in his cover letter: “The article is analyzing the phenomenological basis of being different as the other in everyday life with the focus on intercultural relationships. Furthermore, it tries to clarify some common unsharpness in the use of the term otherness to finally discussing the possibility of something like intercultural psychotherapy from a philosophical perspective. I feel that communicating this basic analysis will contribute to reduce interrelational prejudices and to add a new concept of difference”.

January 30, 2009. Association for Psychological Science

Does the mere availability of something tempting weaken the will to resist? The answer is of more than theoretical interest to public health experts, and the problem goes far beyond serious addictive disorders. Just think of all those Christmas cookies in your office recently. As our national obesity crisis shows, difficulties with discipline and self-control are widespread and harmful.

February 2, 2009. Association for Psychological Science

When a child experiences a traumatic event, such as sexual abuse, it may not be until well into adulthood that they remember the incident. It is not known how adults are able to retrieve long-forgotten memories of abuse and there has been some controversy as to the authenticity of these reports. The results of a new study in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science, suggests that there are important differences between people who gradually recover memories of abuse during suggestive therapy sessions and those who recover memories of abuse more spontaneously. Psychologist Elke Geraerts of the University of St. Andrews and her colleagues reveal that these people are either susceptible to recovering false memories or have a tendency to forget earlier recollections of the abuse.
