On the 6^th of October 2008 in Moscow the plenary session of the international congress “All psychotherapy” chaired by the President of World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP) Alfred Pritz took place. The Congress was held under the auspices of European Association for Psychotherapy, Asian Federation for Psychotherapy and World Council for Psychotherapy. In a separate report the editor-in-chief of the World Journal «Psychotherapy», president of PPL, vice-president of WCP professor Victor Makarov presented the first issue of the new journal, characterizing it first of all as a professional interdisciplinary and intercultural space for establishing systemic and constructive dialogue of representatives and adherents of various psychotherapeutic approaches and modalities.

Chair of Board of experts of the World Journal «Psychotherapy», president of WCP, professor Alfred Pritz also addressed the meeting and informed of the presumed role of the journal in the much-needed process of consolidation of the world movement of psychotherapists.

Representatives of psychotherapeutic communities of Russia , Ukraine , Belorussia , Kazakhstan , Estonia , Germany and other countries shared impressions about the first issue of the World Journal «Psychotherapy». All speakers approved appearance of the new journal and pointed out the topicality of its foundation and possible prospects of this psychotherapeutic edition.

All speakers expressed hope, that the new edition will facilitate development of psychotherapy as an independent profession. This process has begun many years ago from the integrative movement in psychotherapy, which has been being developed in different variants in many countries. Inter alia in Russia such an approach is called “polymodal psychotherapy”. It is integrative approach which will allow conducting psychotherapy most effectively, selecting for the given client most efficient methods and achieving better result within a shorter time.

Consortium of three independent companies from Russia , Montenegro and Canada headed by Softex Plus Inc. ( Richmond Hill , Ontario , Canada ) took publishing functions. It will be possible to subscribe for the World Journal «Psychotherapy» on this website starting from January 2009.
